Press Release for FADE

Dale White – The journey starts here

Dale White is many things to many people. He is a musician, song writer and, above all, an artist.

His new album, ‘FADE – Music for the Mind Traveler’ is the first step on what Dale hopes to be a very long and successful musical journey. On the evidence of this debut offering, he could very well be right.

Dale combines the best parts of new age music, ambient and electronica to create a record that truly takes the listener on a journey around that most exotic and bizarre country there is: your own mind.

His innovation and originality as both musician and writer means that this is one trip that never gets boring, never gets predictable. It is daring and far-reaching music, but it is still fun, danceable and accessible.

That is Dale’s tricks. He makes music that can appeal across the board.  He takes traditional song structure and injects that much needed bit of fun and originality into them. He is certainly not a musician who is afraid to play around with his sound.

For example, Eastern Signs is a traditional electronica track into which Dale manages to weave Thai and Japanese voices. On the superb Faded Trip, he even includes the amazing sound of a group of Tuvin Throat singers.

In a sense this is world music, but it is an album that defies the traditionally earnest connotations of that label. It is great music but benefits from a playful side too.

Maybe the joy of blending genres comes from a rounded musical education that takes in the likes of Pink Floyd, Yes and Deep Purple alongside Bach and Prokofiev.

Basically, if it’s good music, Dale will appreciate it. And that open-mindedness, combined with 15 years of experience on the scene, is what has come together to make this very special record.

FADE truly is a journey, and it is one a lot of people will soon be wanting to go on. Several songs have already charted and Better Days has been used in a film documentary.

For Dale White, this is surely only the beginning.
